The Most Holy Trinity

Today we celebrate the Solemnity of the Holy Trinity.  In the preface prayer we proclaim, "Father...you have revealed your glory as the glory of your Son and of the Holy Spirit:  three Persons equal in majesty, undivided in splendor, yet one Lord, one God, ever to be adored in your everlasting glory."  What a mouthful!  What a mindful!  Who could have thought this up?  One God, three Persons equal in majesty, united in their splendor and deserving adoration for everlasting glory!  This truth must be divinely revealed because no mere human mind could have come up with it.  It attempts to put in words an inexpressible mystery- that at the very center of everything that is- there is a relationship of perfect and most beautiful love!

Eucharistic Prayer III goes further in saying, "All life, all holiness comes from you [Father] through your Son, Jesus Christ our Lord, by the working of the Holy Spirit."  Not only is this "community" of love doing its cosmic work at the center of the universe but the Holy Trinity is personally and immediately involved in our lives, even to the point of calling us to personal holiness!
