September 11

Ten years ago on September 11, 2001, a very small man, tried to impress the world and the God he obviously did not know or understand, by killing thousands of innocent people in the United States.  That man is in God's hands and God will judge him. His name should be forgotten as soon as possible.  The tragedy that ensued should never be forgotten.  It should be remembered for the miraculous grace and heroism witnessed that day.  It should be remembered for the police and firefighters who sacrificed their lives to bring others to safety.  It should be remembered for the men and women who helped each other down the stairs and out of harms way.  It should be remembered for the passengers of flight 93 who sacrificed their lives to save their fellow citizens.  It should be remembered for all those who cared for victims or dug through the wreckage searching for survivors.
Today, let us pray for those who lost their lives and for their families.  Let us pray for the survivors, that God may heal all their wounds.  Let us pray for all those first responders, who put their lives on the line to keep us safe.  Let us ask God to keep our homeland safe.  And let us pray that God’s miraculous grace will enable us to become “a holy nation, a royal priesthood, a people set apart.”
